Dick Sargent, foremost known for his role as Darrin Stephens in the additions 1960's-era television show "Bewitched," died at the age of 64 on July 8, 1994. Throughout his life, Sargent was a successful actor, director, and writer; he performed on stage, television, and in films. Born in 1930 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California as Richard Cox, Sargent began his career at the age of nine when he performed at the Pasadena Playhouse in his native California. He later moved to New York to further pursue his ambitions as a Broadway star. Before his part as Darrin left a lasting legacy on the world of pop culture, Sargent appeared in the films "Darby’s Rangers" and "Send Me No Flowers," and also had small roles in "The Apartment," "The Great Imposter," and "The Singing Nun." Sargent married Elizabeth P. MacRae, the daughter of actress Lurene Tuttle, in 1975. His sharp wit and genuine spirit captured the hearts of many during his lifetime. A true creative genius, Sargent left a lasting impact on the world and will be missed by all.
