Emiliano Sala, born 1990-10-31, died on 2019-01-21 at the age of 28. He was a professional football player, most known for his affiliation with the Premier League's Cardiff City. Sala started his career with Club Proyecto Crecer in his native Argentina, followed by a season with San Martin de Tucuman in 2012-2013. He went on to play for several teams in France before making the move to Wales with Cardiff City in January 2019. Sala gained notoriety amongst footballers and the masses alike for his remarkable goal-scoring rate; scoring over one goal per two appearances ratios for many of the clubs he represented. His brief but promising career reached an unfortunate end on 21st January 2019, when a plane carrying Sala crashed over the English Channel.
