Estelle Harris, an iconic comedienne and actress whose career spanned over 70 years, passed away on April 2, 2022 at the age of 93. Best known for her portrayal of Estelle Costanza in the hit sitcom “Seinfeld”, Harris was born in New York City on April 4, 1929 and began acting on stage and in television in the 1950s. She made appearances on a number of TV series, including “Bewitched” and “The Love Boat”, before making her “Seinfeld” debut in 1992. In addition to her comedic roles, Harris was an accomplished dramatic actress, appearing in films such as “A Bug’s Life” and “George of the Jungle”, and voicing characters in a variety of animated films and TV shows. She won an Emmy Award in 1997, in addition to numerous other awards and accolades. In her later years, Harris stayed active with voice work and appearances at conventions and film festivals, and wrote her memoir, “My Life as Estelle Costanza.” In addition to her illustrious career, Harris was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and fans.
