Canadian-born american socialite (1908-1950).
Born April 14th, 1908 in Brockville.
Died April 14th, 1950 at 42 years old in Beacon (bleeding).
Frances Ford Seymour, age 42, passed away on April 14, 1950. She was born on November 13, 1907 in New York City to Clara and Isidore Seligman, of German-Jewish descent. She was predeceased by her husband, actor Humphrey Bogart, and their two children, Stephen Humphrey Bogart and Leslie Howard Bogart. Before her marriage to Humphrey in 1926, Frances had enjoyed a successful career as an actress, appearing in several Broadway musicals and early films, including the silent films Eternal Flame and You Never Know Women, as well as the 1920 adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Later in life, Frances suffered from mental health difficulties, and was treated with electroconvulsive therapy. She checked herself into a psychiatric facility in late 1949 and died there of undisclosed causes at the age of 42. Frances was remembered as a talented actress with a spirited sense of humour, and her family mourned her deeply. Her two children, Stephen and Leslie, would later go on to establish the Bogart Pediatrics Research Laboratory in her memory. She will be missed.
