Jackie Gleason, an American actor and comedian, died on June 24, 1987 at the age of 71. Gleason is perhaps best known for his role as Ralph Kramden in "The Honeymooners" in the 1950s, as well as for his popular variety show "The Jackie Gleason Show". He also appeared in 25 films, with his last being the 1980 comedy "Gig antioxidants cels". Gleason was born in 1916 in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, New York. His achievements included five Emmy awards, three Golden Globe awards, and two Screen Actors Guild awards. In 2000, he was posthumously awarded the Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime achievement in the performing arts. Gleason will be remembered for his vast contribution to the entertainment industry, as well as his quick wit and friendly demeanour. He is survived by his three children.
