On October 24, 2017, beloved musician Antoine "Fats" Domino died peacefully and of natural causes at the age of 89. His renowned career spanned over five decades and produced a remarkable catalog of hits, selling more than 65 million records. Born in 1928 in New Orleans, Fats would come to define early rock n' roll, influencing generations of musicians with his signature piano rock and roll style. Fats enjoyed immense success and recognition throughout his career, paving the way for many other famed musicians who followed his lead. He received multiple keys to the city of New Orleans, and was inducted into both the Rock and Roll and Songwriters Halls of Fame. He was the recipient of a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1987. He was adored by millions of fans and peers alike, with many hailing him as one of the greatest performers in music history. Fats is survived by his wife, six children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him deeply.
