Laxmikant Berde, an accomplished Indian film and television actor, passed away on December 16, 2004 at the age of 50. Berde began his career in Marathi theatre in the 1970s, and soon made his debut in Marathi films in 1984. His prolific career spanned nearly two decades with memorable performances in more than 150 films, including Gulacha Ganapati (1985), Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1988), Lek Chalali Sasarla (1991) and Dil Vil Pyar Vyar (2002). He also made numerous appearances on television shows and in advertisements. Berde received numerous accolades for his work, including six awards at the Maharashtra State Film Awards for best comedy scenes, as well as the 1995 National Film Award for Best Comedian for his performance in Vastav. Berde is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter. He will be dearly missed.
