It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mac Davis, beloved singer, songwriter, actor, and entertainer. Mac passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 78. Born Morris Mac Davis on January 21, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas Mac Davis was recognized for his witty, heartfelt music. Best known for his song “Baby Don’t Get Hooked On Me,” Mac’s songs often appeared on both country and pop playlists. Davis also achieved success as an actor appearing in classic films such as The Sting II and North Dallas Forty, as well as TV shows like B.J. and the Bear. Throughout his career, he also received major awards including the Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Award, a CMA Award, and two Grammy Awards. Mac Davis is survived by his wife Lise Gerard and his children Noah, Cody Bill, Jesse, and Caitlyn Davis-Webb. With an infectious personality and a vast treasure of music, Mac Davis' life will live on forever.
