Majel Barrett, actress and businesswoman, passed away on December 18th, 2008 at the age of 76. Majel Barrett was an iconic figure in the world of science fiction. She had a long career in both television and film and is best known for her roles in the Star Trek franchise. She had the distinction of being the only performer to have a role in every Star Trek television series, including the original 1966 series, as well as the subsequent movies. In addition to her work on Star Trek, she had roles in other classic television series including Ironside, Bonanza, and The Name of the Game. She also had many on-camera film roles including He & She, Laugh-In, and Angels Revenge. Majel Barrett was also the wife of iconic Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. In addition to her successful career in television and film, Majel Barrett was also the founder of Roddenberry Productions, the company she started with her husband Gene. She is preceded in death by her husband Gene Roddenberry. She is survived by her son Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry, Jr. Majel Barrett made an everlasting impression on the world of science fiction and television and her legacy will live on.
