Margaux Hemingway, an American model, actress, and granddaughter of writer Ernest Hemingway, passed away on July 2, 1996, at the age of 41. A native of Portland, Oregon, Margaux had an early career as a model, appearing on the cover of Vogue magazine at just 15 years old. She was also featured in ad campaigns for cosmetics companies. In 1976, she made her motion picture debut in the film “Lipstick”. Her other film roles included the title role in “Lumiere” and supporting roles in “They Call Me Bruce” and “Death in the Nile”. In 1984, Margaux was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her role in “The Posession Of Joel Delaney”. In addition to her film roles, Margaux also wrote several books about her life and her struggles with alcohol and depression. She was preceded in death by her father Jack and her sister Mariel. Margaux is survived by her sister Muffet, her brother Jack Jr., and her mother Janet.
