Markie Post, long-time actress and Hollywood star, passed away on 2021-08-07 at the age of 70. Markie, as she was known to her friends, was best known for her roles in television shows such as "The Fall Guy" (1982-1986), "Night Court" (1984-1992), and "Hearts Afire" (1992-1995). She also starred in several movies such as Red Blooded American Girl (1990) and All-American Girl (1995). Post's career spanned five decades, starting with appearances in popular sitcoms such as Welcome Back, Kotter (1977-1979) and Laverne and Shirley (1979). In addition to her acting career, she served as a spokesperson and judge, most notably appearing on "The New Hollywood Squares" (1986-1989). Beyond her professional accomplishments, Post was admired and respected for her charitable nature. She Alfred Sloan Foundation's initiatives to promote the advancement of women in science, and served on the boards of the Council for a Strong America and the National Parks Conservation Association. Throughout her life, Post was full of joy and enthusiasm, moving through her career with grace and dignity. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
