It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michelle Triola Marvin on October 30th, 2009 at the age of 76. Michelle Triola Marvin was born in Long Beach, California. Michelle gained notoriety as the plaintiff in the landmark 1976 California Supreme Court case of Marvin v. Marvin, which established the legal concept of palimony in California law. Prior to this landmark case, Michelle was a dancer, actor, and singer. She was cast as a movie extra in the Marlon Brando movie "Guys and Dolls" in 1955. Michelle will also be remembered for her two books, "Trio: Intimate Portraits of Life with Lee, Michelle, and Julia," and "Trio: Portraits of an Intimate Friendship," which chronicle her personal and professional relationship with icon actor and singer Lee Marvin, and his daughter, actress and singer Julia Marvin. Michelle is survived by her nephew, Gayland Erickson, niece Sari Calhoun and stepchildren Dean, Pamela, and Kathy. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.
