Moe Howard, one of the founding members of the comedic troupe, the Three Stooges, passed away on May 4, 1975 aged 77. Born Moses Harry Horwitz in Brooklyn, New York on June 19, 1897, Howard began performing at a young age in Hooper's Theater in Brooklyn. In 1925, Howard formed a vaudeville act known as "Ted Healy and His Stooges" alongside brother Shemp Howard and Larry Fine. The following year Howard's younger brother, Curly Howard, replaced his brother Shemp. It was at this time that Healy renamed the act, "The Three Stooges". The trio achieved massive success and went on to produce 190 comedy shorts between 1934 and 1959. Moe Howard was known for his unique physical comedy, often involving props like a barber chair. Howard is survived by family and friends. Moe Howard will be remembered for his contributions to the entertainment industry and will live on in the memories of fans around the world.
