On Thursday, August 16th, 2019, Peter Henry Fonda, beloved actor and Oscar-nominated screenwriter, passed away at the age of 79. Fonda was born in New York City, New York in 1940 to legendary actor Henry Fonda and socialite Frances Ford Seymour. Fonda achieved early success playing opposite of his father in the western comedy “The Tin Star.” Fonda went on to establish himself as one of the most iconic actors of his generation through his roles in 1969’s “Easy Rider,” 1972’s “The Hired Hand,” and 1997’s “Ulee’s Gold,” the latter of which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role. For his extensive contributions to film, Fonda was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His other well-known roles include 1977’s “3:10 to Yuma,” 1979’s “The Electric Horseman,” 1989’s “Cold Feet,” and his final role in 2019’s “The Last Full Measure.” Fonda is survived by his son, daughter, step-daughter, and granddaughters. He will be deeply missed.
