Prince George, Duke of Kent, passed away on August 25, 1942 at age 39. He was a member of the British royal family and the fourth son of King George V and Queen Mary. He was born into the royal family in July 20, 1902. After being educated in England, Ireland, and Scotland, he entered the Royal Navy in 1914. Prince George had a distinguished naval career, rising to the rank of Rear-Admiral. He also served as President of the Duke of York's Royal Military School, Chairman of the National Playing Fields Association, President of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, and Grand Prior of the Order of St. John. Prince George was married to Princess Marina of Greece, with whom he had three children. He was a devoted husband and father, as well as a prominent public figure. Prince George will be remembered as a generous and devoted member of the royal family and for his service in the Royal Navy. He will be deeply missed.
