Ralphie May, a beloved comedian and actor, passed away on October 6, 2017, at 45 years old. Ralphie was a stand-up comic for more than 20 years, performing hundreds of shows to sold-out crowds around the world. His material was often a mix of social commentary and edgy humor, tackling everything from race and culture to everyday life. He also released albums, appeared on TV, wrote an autobiography, and even starred in his own sitcom. Ralphie was born in Chattanooga, Tennesse in 1972. Growing up, he worked in his parents’ convenience store before deciding to pursue his passion for comedy. He quickly found success, and by 2003, was declared one of Variety magazine’s “Top 10 Comics to Watch.” Ralphie had a vibrant and larger-than-life personality that will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Lahna Turner, and two children.
