Legendary author and screenwriter Roald Dahl passed away on November 23rd, 1990 at the age of 74. Dahl was born in Llandaff, Wales in 1916 and had a successful career as a novelist, short story writer, and screenwriter. His work earned him some of the highest honors in the literary world, including awards from the British Library and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Dahl is perhaps best remembered for his beloved children's novels, which have been translated into 58 languages and enjoyed by millions of readers around the world. His works have also been adapted for stage and screen, including his books "James and the Giant Peach," "Matilda," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," and "The BFG," as well as the screenplays for Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" and the Roald Dahl classic "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory." Dahl will be remembered for his unique style and delightful storytelling, as well as his commitment to creativity and imagination. He will be deeply missed.
