Rod Serling, legendary American screenwriter and producer, passed away on June 28th, 1975 at the age of 50. He was best known for his prolific work on The Twilight Zone, for which he wrote 92 of the show's 156 episodes. Serling was born in 1925 in Syracuse, New York, and studied literature at Antioch College in Ohio. After college, he joined the Army and served in the Pacific during World War II. After his service, he became a television scriptwriter in 1950. During his career, Serling wrote hundreds of scripts for plays, teleplays, and films, including Requiem for a Heavyweight, which won him two Emmys. For most, though, he will be best remembered for his work on The Twilight Zone. Passionate, creative, and undeniably talented, Rod Serling's influence on the entertainment industry will never fade. His death leaves the industry and viewers across the world in mourning.
