In memory of Rosemary Clooney (May 23, 1928 – June 29, 2002), an iconic singer, actress, and entertainer who had a career that spanned over half a century. Born in Maysville, Kentucky, she began her career in 1945, when she and her sister, Betty, had their own radio show. Her career took off quickly and by 1946 had signed with Columbia Records and had her first hit with “Come On-a My House”. Her success lasted over the ensuing decades as she performed at nightclubs, concerts, television shows, and movies. Rosemary was an Academy Award nominated actress for her role in The Facts of Life and won a Grammy for her album of traditional pop music Songs from the Girl Singer. Rosemary died in 2002, in her Beverly Hills home at the age of 74. She leaves behind a beloved legacy of music, pioneering talent, and a powerful voice that will be remembered by her millions of fans forever.
