Shane Warne was an Australian cricketer who was widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in the history of the sport. He made his first-class debut in 1991 and went on to play for his country in Tests and one-day internationals. He is the only player to have taken more than 700 Test wickets, and he was also a successful captain of the Australian national side. Warne was known for his unique style of bowling, which involved tossing the ball high in the air and spinning it rapidly towards the batsman. He announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2007.

It is the fate — the genetic and neural fate — of every human being to be a unique individual, to find his own path, to live his own life, to die his own death. Oliver Sacks
