It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of American actor Tony Curtis, on September 29, 2010. He was 85 years old. Born Bernard Schwartz in 1925 in the Bronx, New York, Curtis was a household name for decades. He first gained fame for his comedic roles in the 1950s. Among his most famous films were Some Like It Hot, Operation Petticoat, and The Defiant Ones for which he was nominated for an Academy Award. In addition to his film work, Curtis also wrote and illustrated a children’s book called "Little Dreams", released in 1989. Curtis is survived by his six children, six grandchildren, and his brother, Robert Schwartz. He will be remembered fondly by friends, family, and fans around the world.
