In a career that spanned five decades, actor Tony Sirico passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2022 at 79 years old. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and he started his career as a New York criminal and, after racking up 24 arrests, he turned to acting. Sirico was best known for playing tough-guy characters, often with a touch of wise-cracking humor. He played mobster Paulie Walnuts for all eight seasons of "The Sopranos" on HBO, and made cameo appearances in numerous films including "Goodfellas," "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three," "Gotti," and "Casino." He won the American Television Award in 2002 for his performance on "The Sopranos," and nominated by the Screen Actors Guild for outstanding performance by an ensemble in the same show. Sirico will be remembered for his extraordinary professional work, and also for being a beloved husband, father, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed, not only by his family but by fans from around the world who adored him.
