Wayne Richard Wells, better known as Wayne Static, passed away on November 1, 2014 at the age of 48. Static was an American musician and producer best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist and ever-present force behind industrial metal group Static-X. Waynes long career included several highly successful albums, including the band's 1999 multi-platinum debut, Wisconsin Death Trip, as well as Out of Phase (2001),Shadow Zone (2003),Start a War (2005),Cannibal (2007) and Cult of Static (2009). Wayne moved to Los Angeles following the release of Wisconsin Death Trip and became a respected figure on the hard rock/metal club scene in the 2000s, playing alongside the likes of Korn, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson. In recent years, Wayne joined forces with Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler and released an album under the band name Pighammer. Wayne was also known for his commitment to charity, baseline philanthropy and support for veterans. Static will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and fans.
