Will attended Columbia University and later became a member of the Group Theater in New York. He went on to star in North West Mounted Police (1940), Citizen Kane (1941), The Ox-Bow Incident (1943), and The Waltons (1972-1978). He was also an environmental advocate and served as a co-founder of the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in 1973 in Topanga Canyon, California. Geer's performances were well-known for their outstanding accuracy and emotion. He won numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the acting profession, including a best supporting actor Emmy nomination for his role in The Waltons. He will be remembered for his acting legacy, environmental activism and unwavering commitment to the arts.
