Zahra Khanom Tadj es-Saltaneh (1883-1936) passed away on the 25th of January, 1936, at the age of 52. Born and educated in Iran, she was a influential social and political activist in the early twentieth century, and believed strongly in the expansion of women's rights and freedoms within Iran. Through her activism, she had a pioneering role in feminists politics in the country. Zahra Khanom Tadj es-Saltaneh is remembered as a leader of the women's movement in twentieth-century Iran, playing a key role in the struggle to advance the rights of women in the society and calling for their full participation in the political process. She is also remembered for her commitment to defending the rights of working-class women and fighting for their emancipation. Her legacy of social activism will live on long after her passing.
