It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Bernie Mac. On August 9th, 2008, Bernie Mac perished at the age of 50, leaving behind many devastated friends and fans around the world. Bernie Mac, born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough on October 5th, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, was a comedian, actor, voice artist, and American entertainment icon. He was best known for his stand up comedy special, "Bernie Mac: I Ain’t Scared," and his various movie roles, including his Golden Globe-nominated performance in the 2001 film “Oceans Eleven.” As a comedian, Bernie Mac found success on television throughout the 1990s. He went on to star in his own sitcom, “The Bernie Mac Show,” which ran on Fox from 2001 to 2006. His impact will continue to live on in the hearts of many of his countless friends and fans. He will be sorely missed.
