It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the loss of Bob Crane (1929-1978). He was a beloved actor, artist, and humanitarian who passed away on June 29th, 1978, aged 49. Bob was born in Waterbury, Connecticut on July 13, 1929. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a semi-professional drummer at a young age. Before his life in acting, he first worked as a radio announcer. He started out hire d in multiple radio shows as a local disc jockey in Los Angeles, and eventually got noticed by an agent for his comedic timing. This then led to him hosting the "Bob Crane Show" in Phoenix, Arizona in 1951. Bob then went on to be recognized for his skills on the radio and his big break in acting came in 1961 with the iconic television show "Hogan's Heroes." He became a household name for playing Colonel Robert E. Hogan in the sitcom and gained a loyal fan base. He had a successful career, until the untimely end of his life in 1978. His legacy as a beloved actor, artist, and humanitarian will live on forever. At this time, we kindly ask that no flowers be sent in remembrance of Bob's passing.
