Famed mobster Bugsy Siegel, 41, died June 20th, 1947. Born Benjamin Siegel in Brooklyn, New York on February 28th, 1906, Siegel became an infamous mob leader for the powerful organized crime syndicate, Murder Inc. Siegel rose to fame for his successful bootlegging operations during the prohibition era and soon after became part of the most notorious gangsters in the country. Known for pushing the envelope for the crime syndicate in new lucrative endeavors like casinos, Siegel had a major impact on organized crime in Las Vegas, Nevada and beyond. Though Bugsy Siegel's death remains a mystery, his legacy of powerful and influential organized crime activities will never be forgotten.
