Russell Bufalino, an American mobster, passed away on February 25, 1994, at age 90. Born in Sicily on July 29, 1903, Bufalino immigrated to the United States with his family as a young child, settling in Pittston, Pennsylvania. During his lifetime, Bufalino worked as a coal mine worker, and eventually rose to power as a leader of La Cosa Nostra in northeast Pennsylvania and the upstate New York region. He developed close relationships with politicians and business associates in the area. Bufalino was an influential figure within the criminal underworld, often described in press and reports as being highly secretive and shrewd. He is known for creating a unified La Cosa Nostra in the northeast United States. Bufalino's life ended on the 25th of February, 1994. Despite the high profile nature of his life, Bufalino will be remembered for the positive influence he had on his family, friends, and business associates.
