On May 13th 1972, Dan Blocker, a beloved actor, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43. Born in DeKalb, Texas, Dan had a long, successful career in the entertainment industry, obtaining the most recognition for his role of Hoss Cartwright on the hit television sitcom Bonanza. Throughout his lifetime, Dan was a model citizen, a loving father of four, a keen supporter of education and the U.S. Navy Reserve. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he acted in commercials, television, and in multiple episodes of Bonanza. Dan Blocker will be remembered as a generous, family-oriented man, who deeply cared for his fans and adored doing public relations outreach.
