Earl Hindman, best known for his role as Wilson W. Wilson Jr., the beloved neighbor on the television show Home Improvement, sadly passed away on December 29, 2003, at the age of 61. Though Hindman was born in Bisbee, Arizona, he spent much of his life in Stamford, Connecticut. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1962 and eventually landed a role in The Moneychangers on Broadway. That performance opened the doors for movie roles in such films as The Pursuit of D.B. Cooper, Arthur 2: On the Rocks, and The Burbs. However, it was his role as Tim Taylor’s neighbor Wilson on Home Improvement that granted Hindman one of the most unforgettable celebrity moments of our time. That role lasted eight years, and during that time he made memorable appearances in other films and plays as well. A master of voice impersonations, Hindman was beloved by all who had the pleasure of working with him. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Molly. Earl Hindman’s legacy as an actor and a man will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity. Gilda Radner
