Chester Arthur Burnett, better known to the world as Howlin' Wolf, passed away on the 10th of January, 1976, at the age of 65. Burnett was born in Mississippi in 1910, and began a life of work in the cotton fields of his hometown. Taking on the nickname 'Howlin' Wolf', he soon gained fame in the local blues music scene, leading him to the creation of his own unique style of music, blending elements of traditional blues with modern electric sounds. Howlin' Wolf's music career eventually earned him a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, alongside many other influential blues musicians. In addition to his music, Howlin' Wolf was well-known for his large frame and imposing stage presence, which endeared him to many. He left behind a rich legacy of music, having earned several roll gold records and been credited by his peers as a major influence in blues music.
