Lenny Montana, legendary actor and mobster-turned-Hollywood-bodyguard, passed away on 1992-05-12 at the age of 66. Born in 1926 to Italian immigrant parents, Montana made a name for himself in the world of organized crime before stepping into the world of acting. He appeared as Luca Brasi in The Godfather, one of his most famous roles, as well as uncredited roles in other classic gangster films. Montana also appeared in several television shows before his death, including the crime drama Wiseguy. Montana was known in Hollywood as an affable, if formidable, bodyguard, both of his acting and mobster past serving him well in his chosen profession. Actor Peter Falk described Montana as "intimidating at first glance, but totally dedicated to protecting his client." Montana will be remembered both for his iconic roles and his impact on the entertainment industry. He is survived by his two children and grandchildren.
