Mike Starr, age 44, passed away on 2011-03-08 00:00:00 UTC. He was best known as the original bass guitarist of the grunge band Alice in Chains during the early 1990s. Starr was also a part of the Seattle music scene since the 1980s, playing in various bands, including The Layne Staley Band and Sun Red Sun. Aside from playing music, Starr was also an actor and model. He was an important influence in the Seattle music scene and his legacy will be remembered.
