On January 13, 2009, the world lost a great actor, writer, and producer, Patrick McGoohan, at the age of 80. He was best known for his performances in shows and films such as Danger Man, The Prisoner, Braveheart, Escape from Alcatraz, Ice Station Zebra, and Scoop. McGoohan worked in the entertainment industry for over 50 years, with numerous appearances on stage, television, and the silver screen. A native of Ireland, he earned the Commander of the British Empire, and he was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 2013 for his work in British television. He is survived by his wife, actress Joan Drummond, whom he married in 1951, and their three children: Catherine, Anne, and Mark. In addition, three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter also survive him. McGoohan will be remembered and celebrated for his long-standing contribution to the entertainment industry.
