Died January 16th, 2014 at 89 years old in Bainbridge Island (kidney failure).
Russell David Johnson, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Born to Russell and Dorothy Johnson, he graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1943 before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. After his service, he earned a degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island in 1950 and began a successful career in business and finance. Upon his retirement, he dedicated much of his time to his hobby of traveling and seeing the world. He was an avid reader. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathryn; son, Robert; daughter, Deborah; and four grandchildren. Russell was a dedicated and passionate father to his children, a loving and supportive partner to his wife, and a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren. His warmth, generous spirit, and dry wit will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
