Paul Castellano, a prominent American gambler and mobster, passed away on December 16th, 1985 at the age of 69. He was born in the lower east side of Manhattan in 1916. Mr. Castellano had a colorful and storied history, most notably as head of the Gambino crime family from 1976 until his death. He was forced to leave his post in 1985 following his arrest on racketeering charges. He leaves behind his wife and four children. He will be remembered as a major influence in the organized crime movement of the United States. May he rest in peace.
